About the collection
Museum collection and library
Het Noordbrabants Museum collects art and other objects which are related to the art, history and culture of North Brabant and the Southern Netherlands. The museum collection contains more than 30,000 objects, such as paintings, prints, drawings, textile, coins and medals, glass, silver, craft work and archaeological and typical objects from Brabant.
What do we do with our collection?
As a visitor, you can see about 15% of our collection in the museum’s permanent presentations. The rest of the objects are kept in the depot and they are sometimes used in assembling our temporary exhibitions. Objects from the collection are also shown in other museums and exhibitions and they are also used for study.
If you have a question about the collection or if you would like more information, send us an e-mail.
If certain conditions can be met, Het Noordbrabants Museum will loan objects from its collection to other museums for exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad.
A loan request involves an administrative process. It is therefore important that requests are submitted a minimum of six months before the beginning of the proposed loan period. The loan conditions, including transport and insurance, security, climate requirements and lighting limitations can be obtained from the registrars of Het Noordbrabants Museum.
