She is the first Brabantse Nieuwe of 2025! For the first time, the exhibition is free to visit in the Koetshuis, at the start of the museum’s forecourt. In her work, Renée explores the connection between the human and the non-human. Is there really a difference between a person and a tree?

The world
Renée Bus shares her view of the world through her art. She believes that everything has a soul: plants, animals, and people. She wants us to think more about the world around us and feel more connected to nature. Her work helps us to look more carefully at our surroundings and to see the wonder in them.
Fases of life
Her sculptures show different stages of life. In this way, she also wants to make the heavier parts of life a bit lighter—things like death and the fact that everything eventually passes. So yes, you can expect a touch of humor in her work too!
Renée graduated from the St. Joost School of Art & Design in Breda in 2018 and finished her Master’s in Contemporary Art Practice at Edinburgh College of Art in 2023. She now lives and works in Tilburg.
